§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is satisfied that all the functions of rural development boards as set out in the Agriculture Act will be fully exercisable in the event of Great Britain entering the European Economic Community; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. PeartWhile it is not possible to give any specific assurance on this matter, I understand that development programmes similar to those for which the Rural Development Boards are to be responsible are already operated by present members of the Community.
I am therefore encouraged to believe that there would continue to be a place for the Boards in a Community of which we were a Member.
