§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what progress he has made in his discussions with the National House Builders Registration Council on overcharging for their certificates; and, in view of the fact that two firms in the Wrexham area, details of which have been sent to him, are continuing this practice, if he will discuss the possibility of introducing the Council's new agreement forthwith.
§ Mr. MellishThe National House Builders Registration Council's new form of agreement between builder and purchaser, to which I referred in my Answer 269W to my hon. Friend's Question on 14th March, has now been promulgated and will apply to all houses for which foundations are laid after 1st August, 1967.
It will be a condition of the agreement that the certificate be issued on payment of one shilling, and any registered builder who charges more than this will be answerable to the Council.—[Vol. 743, c. 202.]
