HC Deb 04 July 1967 vol 749 cc236-7W
Mr. Elystan Morgan

asked the Postmaster-General what plans there are to extend the coverage of the B.B.C.1 television service to those areas of the United Kingdom, in particular mid-Wales, which do not at present receive it.

Mr Edward Short

Plans for the low-power stations to relay B.B.C.1 include two (at Ffestiniog and Dolgellau) in mid-Wales. The B.B.C. hopes to open the station at Dolgellau this year. There is, however, a limited number of frequency channels available for broadcasting and it is technically impossible to provide a relay station in every area which would benefit from one.
