§ Mr. Cleggasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what reports he has had of the state of the west coast hake fisheries.
§ Mr. John MackieThe hake fishery off the south-west of Ireland and the west of Scotland has declined gradually since the war. The decline is associated with heavy fishing by foreign vessels. International conservation regulations apply in this area but the hake fishery presents special problems of some intricacy which are still being investigated by the scientists.
