§ Miss Jennie LeeThe value of regional arts associations was emphasised in the 341W White Paper on a Policy for the Arts published in 1965 and also in the broadsheet—"Report on the Arts"—which the Department issued last May. The more active the association the more substantial the financial support from the Arts Council, but the success of such associations depends primarily on local enthusiasm and initiative.
