§ Mr. Edward ShortSome 1,045 million letters and cards were dealt with from 13th December to 2nd January, an increase of 0.4 per cent. over the previous year and 0.9 per cent. above Christmas, 1964. I estimate that the figures for packets and parcels were about 110 million and 21 million respectively; in total about 7 per cent. lower than in 1965.
