HC Deb 25 January 1967 vol 739 cc292-3W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what discrepancy exists between the numbers of trained teachers leaving teacher training colleges in Scotland and the number entering the teaching profession in Scotland.

Mr. Ross

Of approximately 2,700 teachers who qualified in the year to 31st March, 1964, 54 men and 128 women had not entered teaching in Scotland by 31st March, 1965, the latest date for which I have figures.
