Mr. Wingfield Digby

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what ammunition has been supplied to the Government of South Africa under the Simonstown Agreement; and what supplies are now being refused.

Mr. Healey

Only ammunition for naval practice has been or is being supplied to South Africa.

Rear-Admiral Morgan Giles

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what factors he took into account when making his decision to discontinue the supply of ammunition for the British-built ships of the South African Navy.

As I have informed the hon. Member for Dorset, West (Mr. Wingfield Digby) today, practice ammunition for the South African Navy is being supplied.
