HC Deb 25 January 1967 vol 739 cc300-1W
116. Mr. Peter Walker

asked the Minister of Labour what action he has taken to implement the recommendation in part (V) of paragraph 44 of Report No. 14 of the National Board for Prices and Incomes on Road Haulage Charges, published in April 1966, which referred to the need for and the desirability of extending the use of recording devices for the better planning of operations.

Mr. Gunter

As I said in reply to the hon. Member for Weston-super-Mare (Mr. Webster) on 16th May last year, the use of these recording devices for productivity reasons is a matter to be considered within the industry. The current review which my right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport is now carrying out into the statutory limits of drivers' hours will cover the use of these devices for measuring driving hours.—[Vol. 728, c. 909.]
