HC Deb 25 January 1967 vol 739 c275W
Mr. Elystan Morgan

asked the Minister of Transport if she will give an assurance that, in view of generally inadequate transport facilities in mid-Wales, no more railway closures will be allowed in the area during the next four years.

Mr. John Morris

No. Any passenger closure proposed by the Railways Board will have to go through the statutory procedure laid down in the Transport Act, 1962. This gives the fullest opportunity for detailed consideration of all the relevant factors including the adequacy of alternative services.
