HC Deb 25 January 1967 vol 739 c273W
Mr. Peter Mills

asked the Minister of Transport, in view of the special dangers of drinking and driving during national holiday periods, what further plans she has to make the roads safer during these periods.

Mrs. Castle

Past studies suggest that drinking before driving is a problem every week-end and not merely at national holidays. The Road Safety Bill aims to reduce the risk by deterring people from drinking too much before driving at any time.

I shall be publishing my overall plan for reducing road accidents later in the year.
