HC Deb 25 January 1967 vol 739 c293W
Mr. Eadie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware that drugs have been lost by children after collection from chemists; if he will review the existing law of Scotland in relation to children being allowed to collect these, sometimes lethal, drugs from chemists; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ross

I do not think there is a case for imposing a statutory limitation on the collection of prescriptions by children from pharmacies. I believe that chemists generally act responsibly in this matter and exercise discretion, having regard to the nature of the drugs being supplied and the age of the children collecting them.
