HC Deb 25 January 1967 vol 739 cc275-6W
55. Mr. G. Campbell

asked the Minister of Transport what representations she has received in favour of a decimal currency based on a ten-shilling unit from transport operators, considering the position of both staff and passengers.

Mrs. Castle

Since the announcement of the Government's decision to adopt a currency based on a one-pound unit I have received representations from the London Transport Board who prefer a ten-shilling unit. They and other operators gave evidence to the Halsbury Committee.
