§ Mr. CallaghanPublic expenditure is being reviewed as part of the planning operation announced by the First Secretary of State on 10th November, 1966 in order to ensure that the overall rate of increase together with the other demands on the economy does not outrun the prospective increase in total resources. Existing economic and social priorities will be examined as part of this process.
