§ Mr. Woofasked the President of the Board of Trade what plans he has for industrial development in the Blaydon area to improve the employment position, in view of the approaching completion of the new Scotswood Bridge.
§ Mr. DarlingThe availability of good sites is essential for the introduction of new industry into an area and I am glad to know that Blaydon Urban District Council are actively considering development of a site. My right hon. Friend is prepared to use his powers under the Local Employment Acts to the full to assist suitable projects which would provide additional employment in the area.
