asked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that the numbers placed in employment in the service and distributive industries covered by Standard Industrial Classification XIX-XX1V increased between July and November, 1966, compared with the preceding year; what has been the effect of the Selective Employment Tax on employment in the service industries; and if he will make a statement.

The numbers placed in industries covered by Orders XIX-XXIV of the Standard Industrial Classification between July and November, 1965, were 288,000, and between July and November, 1966, were 290,000.
