HC Deb 21 February 1967 vol 741 c266W
Mr. Anderson

asked the Secretary of State for Wales, in view of the refusal of development permission for the Newhouse site near Chepstow, what action he proposes to take to ensure that men, especially those in their fifties who are made redundant following the closure of the Royal Naval Propellant Factory, are found employment locally.

Mr. Cledwyn Hughes

A study of the best use to which the Caerwent Factory Site can be put is being made by the Departments and local authorities concerned. Some industrialists have shown an interest in the site and I am confident that the appropriate development will be secured.
