§ 85. Mr. Lomasasked the Minister of Health what study he has made of the consequences for the medical services and the National Health Service of this country of Great Britain becoming a member of the European Economic Community; and if he will make a statement.
210W
§ Mr. K. RobinsonI am advised that membership of the European Economic Community would have no direct or immediate effects on our medical services or the National Health Service; but there should in due course be greater freedom for members of the professions concerned to practise in any part of the Community area, and the Government would join in any future discussions aimed at harmonising the social services of Member States.
