HC Deb 15 February 1967 vol 741 c129W
Mr. Gwynfor Evans

asked the Minister of Health if he will introduce legislation to ensure that when opticians in Wales test the eyes of Welsh-speaking children they use the Welsh alphabet.

Mr. K. Robinson

The method and means used for satisfactorily testing sight are matters for the professional responsibility of the practitioner. I would not therefore regard legislation for the purpose suggested by the hon. Member as appropriate.
