HC Deb 15 February 1967 vol 741 c106W
Mr. Gregor Mackenzie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many women were accepted for places in Scottish colleges of education for infant training, and how many were refused, in 1966.

Mr. Ross

For the full-time one-year course for the infant mistress endorsement 64 applications were accepted and 29 rejected; for the part-time course for serving teachers 218 were accepted and 150 rejected. Because of the essentially practical nature of these courses only limited numbers can be accepted.
