Mr. Edward M. Taylorasked the Minister of Power if he will appoint a committee to obtain information on the differential pricing policies of the nationalised fuel industries and to assess the effect of these policies on regional 51W development; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MarshPrice levels are governed by the statutory obligations and financial circumstances of the individual Boards and it is Government policy that prices should be so far as possible related to the costs of supply, which differ from one part of the country to another. Regional development is affected by many factors apart from fuel costs. I see no need to appoint a Committee.
