HC Deb 09 February 1967 vol 740 c348W
Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is his estimate of the cost of providing a temporal bone library in order that the Medical Research Council can pay greater attention to temporal bone histopathology in its research into problems of hearing loss and vestibular disorders.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

If my hon. Friend is referring to a national scheme such as the Temporal Bone Banks Program of the American Deafness Research Foundation I regret that I am not able to give an estimate of cost. However, there are four centres in this country where samples of human temporal bone and the related clinical case histories are being collected and studied, and the Medical Research Council, who are currently supporting two of these centres, are keeping the situation under review.
