§ Mr. CroslandThe latest available figures, for England and Wales, relate to the financial year 1965–66 for primary and secondary schools and to 1964–65 for establishments of higher education and are as follows:—
£ Primary Schools 80 Secondary Schools 151 Colleges of Education (net cost of tuition) 311 Further Education (advanced courses) 555 Colleges of Advanced Technology 757 Universities (including postgraduates) 755 They cover all current expenditure by public authorities including loan charges but exclude capital expenditure both from revenue and from loans, cash benefits (maintenance, travelling and other allowances) and the cost of school meals and milk.
