HC Deb 09 February 1967 vol 740 c343W
Mr. Rowland

asked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs what is the number of staff employed full-time by the National Board for Prices and Incomes and the precentage of the Board's work carried out by outside consultant organisations.

Mr. Frederick Lee

One hundred and eighteen. It is not possible to assess the contribution by outside consultants on a percentage basis; they are employed as occasions requires to obviate the need for considerably more staff, and to provide specialised knowledge.

Mr. Richard Wainwright

asked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs how many persons are employed by the National Board for Prices and Incomes; how many chartered accountants are so employed; and how many firms of chartered accountants have been from time to time employed by the Board.

Mr. Frederick Lee

122, including 4 part-timers; the Board employs 3 persons as Accountants—2 are Chartered Accountants and 1 a Certified Accountant; 2 firms have been employed.
