HC Deb 09 February 1967 vol 740 c372W
Sir G. Sinclair

asked the Minister of Overseas Development, in view of apparent differences between the figures for British aid produced by his Department and those produced by the United Nations and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, what representations he had made with a view to securing agreement on a definition of aid which would be common to all international organisations.

Mr. Bottomley

International discussions, in which we are playing a full part, are currently taking place with a view to standardising the presentation of aid statistics. Naturally, different statistics are required for different purposes, for example, on some occasions a net figure is more appropriate than a gross figure. I shall be glad to arrange for the hon. Member to be provided with information on particular questions of interpretation.
