§ Mr. Russell Johnstonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many new jobs in service industries as defined for purposes of Selective Employment Tax have been created in the area of the Highlands and Islands Development Board since it was set up.
§ Mr. RossIt is not possible to say how many such jobs have been created, but the Board estimates that the financial assistance it has offered should lead to the creation of some 800 non-manufacturing jobs.
