§ 50. Sir R. Russellasked the President of the Board of Trade what alternative sites are being considered for the Patent Office, other than Croydon; and if consideration is being given to any site on the South Bank.
§ Mr. DarlingWe are at present considering a particular site in Croydon. Should this prove unsuitable, other sites would have to be considered, but I would not regard the South Bank as appropriate in the light of the Government's general policy of reducing congestion in Central London.
