§ Mr. Hector Hughesasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement on the number, location and extent of Great Britain's long-range air ferry services.
§ Mr. J. P. W. MallalieuSix long-range vehicle ferry services, all by British United Air Ferries Ltd., are currently operated, four from Southend or Lydd to Switzerland, and two from Manchester and Coventry to Rotterdam and Calais respectively. On 23rd January the operators announced that on economic grounds all these would be withdrawn from 1st March. The operators are maintaining their 11 other cross-Channel ferry services which carry the bulk of the normal car ferry air traffic.
