§ 73. Mr. Rowlandasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs what aid Great Britain gave in 1966 and expects to give in 1967 to Zambia in respect of costs incured by that country arising from the illegal declaration of independence by Rhodesia.
§ Mr. BowdenWith regard to assistance to Zambia in 1966, I would refer the hon. Member to my reply to the hon. Member for Woolwich, West (Mr. Hamling) on 24th November, 1966, to which I have nothing to add.
With regard to assistance in 1967, final agreement was reached in Lusaka on 1st February on Her Majesty's Government's offer of up to £13.85 million to assist Zambia during the present emergency in the development of alternative supply routes, and Zambian fuel and power resources.
