§ Mr. Iremongerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will introduce legislation to strengthen the powers of local authorities to clear public highways of caravans which are a source of danger to public health.
§ Mr. MacCollThe problem is not only one of powers. Local authorities have adequate powers, which they need to use to find suitable sites for caravans. I am sending the hon. Member a copy of a circular addressed to local authorities about this last June.
