Mr. Hale

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) why the hon. Member for Oldham, West, has not yet been informed of the result of the inquiries into events at the Wellesley Nautical School, Blyth, Northumberland, in which an Oldham boy of 16 years of age sustained a fractured forearm;

(2) whether the Oldham boy of 16 years of age who sustained a fractured forearm at the Wellesley Nautical School is still being detained at another institution under conditions of maximum security; and how long he was so detained;

(3) when his Department first received a Report of the injuries sustained by an Oldham boy of 16 years of age at the Wellesley Nautical School, Blyth, Northumberland; and whether he will place a full copy of that Report in the Library of the House of Commons.

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department on how many occasions in the 12 months ended 30th September, 1966, there is a record of corporal punishment being inflicted at the Wellesley Nautical School, Blyth, Northumberland.
