Mr. Ronald Bellasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will so alter the General Grant Default Regulations, or other relevant regulations, as to allow local education authorities to authorise the attendance at school for part of the day only of children under six years of age.
§ Mr. CroslandThis is one of the recommendations in the recent Plowden Report. I will consider it further when I have the comments on the Report which I have asked bodies representing the local education authorities and the teachers to send me.
