§ Mr. Edward ShortNo. Programme content is a matter for the broadcasting authorities. Each has its own code of practice governing, particularly when children may be viewing, the portrayal of violence; and each has adopted the general rule of excluding from the earlier part of the evening programmes which might be unsuitable for children.
