HC Deb 21 December 1967 vol 756 c512W
Q6. Mr. Gwilym Roberts

asked the Prime Minister if he will make proposals to the President of the United States with a view to there being a permanent bombing truce in Vietnam as from the New Year.

Mr. George Brown:

I have been asked to reply.

My right hon. Friend is in close touch with President Johnson about Vietnam at all times. But for an initiative of the sort proposed by my hon. Friend to be successful means a response from both sides.
