HC Deb 21 December 1967 vol 756 cc502-3W
Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the increase in the number of those seeking to emigrate from Scotland to the United States of America, he will provide facilities in Scotland for the United States Government to enable it to assist those needing to obtain United States immigration visas.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts:

It is for the Government of the United States to consider what arrangements are required for this purpose. There is already a Consul-General of the United States in Edinburgh and I have received no approach from the United States authorities for the establishment of further consular post in Scotland.
