HC Deb 21 December 1967 vol 756 cc528-9W
Miss Harvie Anderson

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works what is the current level of professional and technical staff employed at the Building Research Station; what were the equivalent figures for the last five years; and how many of them are engaged in full-time studies of component co-ordination.

Mr. Mellish:

At 1st December each year professional and technical staff, including those serving part-time, were as follows:

1962 1963 1964 1965 1966 1967
370 377 393 411 432 448

Though it is not the main focus of the component co-ordination programme, the Station currently employs 26 staff on this work. This number is expected to increase to a maximum of 40 over the next two years.
