§ 79. Mr. Francis Noel-Bakerasked the Minister of Transport if she will give a general direction to the Railways Board that no further closures are to be made at the railway workshops, in view of the anxiety among the workers.
§ Mr. John Morris:It would not be appropriate to issue such a direction. The future of particular workshops is a matter for the Railways Board, who keep in close touch with the Government when major changes seem likely.
