§ 42. Mr. J. H. Osbornasked the Minister of Technology whether he is satisfied with the extent of his representation on committees concerned with the teaching of science and technology in schools; and what steps is he now taking with the leaders of the technologically based industries for which he is responsible for encouraging young people to study science, technology and engineering subjects as against arts subjects.
§ Mr. Fowler:My right hon. Friend's Department is represented on the Consultative Committee of the Schools Council which is concerned with encouraging interest in applied science and technology in schools. He has offered to assist where possible in promoting industrial sponsorship of this important work.
