§ 88.Mr. Hooleyasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if, in view of the fact that Ceylon, the Irish Republic, Denmark, Israel and New Zealand have devalued in line with the devaluation of sterling, he will take powers to prevent price increases on food from these countries.
§ Mr. Peart:The prices at which foodstuffs are traded internationally are the result of many factors, of which devaluation is only one. It would not be possible to freeze the price of these imports.
