§ 11. Mr. Robert Cookeasked the Minister of Technology what are now the estimated maiden flight dates of the first and second prototypes of Concorde.
§ Mr. Benn:The scheduled dates are 28th February next for the first prototype and September next for the second prototype. There are some stages still to be completed on the first prototype, any one of which might give rise to a delay of the first flight, but the prospects are sufficiently good to justify retaining a date that is still attainable if all goes according to plan.
§ 40. Mr. Brooksasked the Minister of Technology whether he will make a statement on the effects of devaluation upon the costs to Great Britain of the Concorde research and development programme.
§ Mr. Stonehouse:The sterling cost of the work to be done in Britain will increase slightly owing to the higher costs of certain materials and equipment that have to be imported from third countries.
