§ Mr. George Thomas:The Secretary- General was appointed by Commonwealth Prime Ministers, at their meeting in June, 1965, for a period of five years. 362W The tenure of office of other senior officers will normally be from three to five years, in accordance with paragraphs 33 to 38 of the Agreed Memorandum presented to Parliament in July, 1965, as Cmnd. 2713.
