§ Viscount Lambtonasked the Minister of Health to what extent meat imported from abroad became unfit for human consumption during the recent dock strike; and how and where it was disposed of.
§ Mr. K. Robinson:Part of a chilled beef cargo of 1,000 tons subjected to refrigeration because of the strike in London was subsequently found to be unfit. Mould was found on some of the meat and the affected areas are being removed under supervision by the health authorities and sent for conversion into industrial fats and fertilisers. The other unfit meat in the cargo will be disposed of in a similar way.
