§ Mr. Goronwy Roberts:The Security Council Resolution passed unanimously on 22nd November affirmed amongst other things the necessity for guaranteeing freedom of navigation through international waterways in the Middle East.
277WIn accordance with this Resolution, the Secretary-General has designated the distinguished Swedish diplomat Mr. Gunnar Jarring, as his Special Representative to proceed to the Middle East. I am sure that the whole House will want to join me in wishing every success to Mr. Jarring in his difficult task.
