§ 62. Mr. Goodhartasked the Minister of Labour whether he will appoint a representative from the bodies interested in consumer protection to the advisory committee on the Cost-of-living Index.
§ Mr. Hattersley:The Cost of Living Advisory Committee has recently been reconstituted and has already begun its work of considering the questions on which they have been asked to report. My Statistics Department will always be glad to receive from any bodies including those interested in consumer protection, information which will help to ensure that the Retail Prices Index continues to measure as accurately as possible changes in the level of retail prices.
