§ 74. Sir J. Edenasked the Secretary of State for Defence to what extent the further development of strategic and tactical nuclear weapons will be affected by the recently announced cuts in the military research and development budget.
§ Mr. Mason:As my right hon. Friend announced last month the cut in the F. and D programme for 1968–69 includes a cut of about £2 million on the development of nuclear weapons. This will be achieved by cutting out work of lesser priority without affecting essential development.
