§ Mr. Derek Pageasked the Secretary of State for Defence what military applications have emerged from his Department's hovercraft trials.
§ Mr. Mason:The Navy already have a hovercraft in operation in the Falkland Islands. The Army will be taking delivery very shortly of four hovercraft for use by a logistic squadron which has recently been formed and will move to the Far East next year. Prototypes of a further logistic hovercraft and a fast patrol craft are under development.
