§ Sir C. Osborneasked the President of the Board of Trade what is the estimated annual cost of importing United States films and television programmes; and if he will take steps to curtail these and so help the nation to live within its means.
§ Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody:The annual cost in 1965 and 1966 was about £18 million. I do not think that it would be in the general interest to add to the present restrictions on the foreign content of film and television programmes.
