Mr. James Johnson

asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs whether he will make a statement on the policy of Her Majesty's Government regarding recognition of the Government of Sierra Leone, following the findings of the Dove Edwin Commission, a copy of which has been sent to him.

Her Majesty's Government continue to recognise the National Reformation Council as the Government of Sierra Leone. I would refer my hon. Friend to the written reply given to the hon. and learned Member for Buckinghamshire, South (Mr. Ronald Bell), the hon. Member for Chigwell (Mr. Biggs-Davison), to the hon. Member for Haltemprice (Mr. Wall), and to the hon. Member for Liverpool, Wavertree (Mr. Tilney) on 25th April, 1967.—[Vol. 186, c. 246–7.]
