HC Deb 12 December 1967 vol 756 c103W
Sir C. Osborne

asked the Prime Minister, in view of the nation's inability to earn its living and the unwillingness of foreign bankers to grant further loans to Great Britain, if he will abolish the offices of Minister of State for the Arts and Under-Secretary of State for Sports and the expenditure relating thereto as a first step towards making the nation live within its income.

The Prime Minister

I do not accept —and I am surprised at the hon. Member accepting—the two assertions in the first part of his Question. The Answer to the second part of his Question is "No".
