Mr. Lubbock

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that British United Airways propose to withdraw services to Alderney from 15th January, 1968; and whether, in view of their failure to notify the Air Transport Licensing Board of this proposal, he will make provision by regulation under Section 5(d) of the Civil Aviation (Licensing) Act 1960 for representations to be made to him regarding the fitness of this company to operate other air services to the Channel Islands.

The Board of Trade and the Home Office are in close touch with the Channel Islands authorities on this matter. I understand that the continuation of the Alderney service is still a possibility. I should point
